Monday, 10 November 2025 – 11:00 a.m.
Via Nini da Fano, Bergamo
The welcome meeting for first-year students of the single-cycle Master’s Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery, a joint course of the University of Milano-Bicocca, the University of Bergamo, and ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII, will take place on Monday, 10 November 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Via Nini da Fano campus in Bergamo.
Based in Bergamo, the course is built on an innovative medical curriculum that combines a solid grounding in the basic sciences with early and intensive clinical experience, beginning in the second year.
The programme offers a multidisciplinary and interprofessional educational experience, promoting the integration of knowledge and skills, open-mindedness, scientific and critical thinking, patient-centred care, and a holistic view of health needs.
The teaching approach is founded on Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which encourages knowledge acquisition, peer collaboration, and teamwork. Learning is organised around the main integrated pathophysiological systems, explored through systematic clinical tracks.
The event is an important moment of welcome and orientation for new students, providing an opportunity to learn more about the course structure, university services, and the academic and administrative staff.
Institutional greetings will be given by:
-
Marco Orlandi, Rector of the University of Milano-Bicocca
-
Sergio Cavalieri, Rector of the University of Bergamo
-
Francesco Locati, General Director of ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII
-
Giuseppe Carrà, Director of the Department of Medicine and Surgery, Pro-Rector for Relations with the Healthcare System
-
Maria Grazia Strepparava, President of the single-cycle Master’s Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery
The meeting will also be an opportunity to become acquainted with the academic community and to discover the opportunities offered throughout the educational pathway.
