Our History
The Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan-Bicocca (School of Medicine and Surgery), was established in 1999 with the aim of delivering world class medical education, research and knowledge transfer that benefit patients and society, healthcare practices and the healthcare education community. Since it’s inception, the department has considerably grown delivering a diverse range of Bachelor, Master and Post graduate courses.
With over more than 2,700 students, our current academic offer includes:Â

The Department of Medicine and Surgery is located in Monza, approx.15 kilometers from the main University campus and within the vicinity of the San Gerardo Hospital, which is one of the leading teaching and research hospitals providing a truly world class medical education. It hosts several internationally renowned Centers of Excellence across varied fields of medical specialization.Â
The department has three state of art buildings (U8, U18, U28) that include an electronic library, well equipped teaching and training rooms, cutting-edge research laboratories, computer rooms, study and common spaces for students.Â
