In addition everybody who are going to attend hospital wards must rovide a letter from their family or occupational physician that must be typed on the doctor’s letterhead in legible English.
This letter should include:
Immunity (to be shown by laboratory tests) and certificate of vaccination towards the following diseases: hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella and varicella;
Date of the most recent (within the last two months) tuberculin skin test (PPD) and the end result of the reading (positive or negative; if positive the diameter of induration in millimeters). If tuberculin skin test is positive, a recent (within the last two months) chest x-ray should be provided.
Upon arrival all incoming students MUST check in. To do so please go to the Incoming WELCOME DESK that will help you with administrative matters. The desk is located in Building U17, in the lowered square in front of U12 dormitory. Enter the Orientamento/Segreterie area and take a number by clicking the "Erasmus Incoming" button on the touch screen. Then wait to be called. Opening hours:

You are encouraged to contact the ERASMUS STUDENT NETWORK (ESN-Bicocca) on Wednesday from 1.45pm - 3.45pm in U17. They will guide you throughout your stay in order for you to enjoy it the most.
The School (U8, U18, U28, U38) and the San Gerardo University Hospital are located in Monza, a town about 20 km away from Milan.
If staying in Milan the easiest way to reach the Medical School is by FREE SHUTTLE BUS leaving at 8:00am from the Bignami Station of the Metro Purple Line (bus stop in front of the Starhotels Tourist). Return on the same bus is at 5:10pm.
Alternatively, trains are available from either Central Station, Garibaldi Station, or Greco/Pirelli Station to Monza. Once arrived in Monza there is a FREE SHUTTLE BUS service for students only from the station to the Hospital/Medical School. The bus stop is located in Corso Milano the street uphill beyond the garden in front of the station. There are three runs in the morning at 7:40, 8:20, and 9:00. Returns from Hospital/Medical School to the Monza station are at 5:00, 5:40, and 6:20pm.

If you study in Monza, it is recommended the Building U12 residence that is at walking distance from Greco/Pirelli train station and the Starhotels Tourist (see TRANSPORTATION).

The University of Milano-Bicocca offers FREE ITALIAN COURSES to incoming students. If you do not have a B1 Italian certificate please specify it on the application form, and you will be included in our free course.
