Eligibility for Informatics - Requirements and Procedures
For students pursuing three-year degree courses in Health Professions, the University is required to assess their computer skills as outlined in the degree program's academic regulations. These computer skills can be acquired through either successfully completing the prescribed exams or specific tests listed in the curriculum or by providing existing certifications. The exam taken at the university does not entitle the student to the ECDL/ICDL certification.
Following the resolutions passed by the Academic Senate (No. 170/2022 dated 06/07/2022) and the Board of Directors (No. 655 dated 19/07/2022), beginning in the 2022/2023 academic year, the restriction preventing students from taking third-year exams in the absence of the required computer skills has been eliminated.
You can attain basic-level computer skills and corresponding CFUs through the following methods:
- By presenting suitable certifications:
Please verify that your certification is included in the list under "Basic Level" at this link: https://www.unimib.it/sites/default/files/Tabella_certificati_accettati.pdf . If it is, send a scanned copy of it to informatica.medicina@unimib.it. Certifications can be submitted at any time during the year. Please note that the upload of CFUs may take several weeks.
- Through recognition of a previous academic background:
If your previous coursework includes a Computer Science examination, kindly contact informatica.medicina@unimib.it. CFUs will be assigned following the necessary checks.
- By taking a proficiency test:
If you do not fall into the categories mentioned in 1) or 2), you can establish your eligibility by taking the Computer Science skills test. Monthly test sessions are conducted in the Computer Science Labs at the Monza campus. To register for a test, follow the procedures outlined by the online secretariat, similar to registering for any other course examination.
If you are a student enrolled starting this academic year, the first exam sessions will be available from the month of January following enrollment.
