PEDIATRIC AND ADOLESCENT CRUCIATE LIGAMENT INJURIES
Transalpine Center of Pediatric Sports Medicine and Surgery:
2nd Conference

In the last years, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury rate has significantly increased in pediatric and adolescent and there is an ongoing debate about the ideal ACL injury management in skeletally immature patients. Specific expertise and experience in pediatric sports medicine allows specialists to appropriately treat the unique sports-related lesions of children and teens. We believe that specialized
sports medicine surgeons, trained in pediatric arthroscopic surgery with an expertise in sports physical therapy and rehabilitation are essential to a proper treatment. Moreover, tutoring training for students, residents and community education for parents, coaches,
athletic trainers and physioterapists is essential.

For these reasons we created the Transalpine Center of Pediatric Sports Medicine and Surgery, an International Pediatric Sports Medicine Center between the University of Milano-Bicocca and the Grenoble Alps University Hospital. This is a great opportunity to build an interdisciplinary team including pediatric orthopedic surgeons, pediatrics, rehabilitation experts, physical therapists, and athletic trainers to provide together extraordinary care for growing patients. The aim of this 2nd Conference is to exchange professional scientific knowledge and valuable clinical experiences around pediatric and adolescent cruciate ligament injuries in order to improve our knowledge and give the best treatment to our patients.

The conference comprises broadly speakers to have a wide range of exposure to consider not only the surgeon point of view but various aspects of rehabilitation, prevention, research, sports medicine, and many more.
